Online Therapy in California
It’s hard to attend appointments in person right now
You’re busy, your schedule is tight
You are curious if therapy in the Bay Area can help you
You’re willing to try online therapy in California from the comfort of your own space
Welcome to the world of online therapy in California! So many things have changed over the last few years. Many of us feel like we need support right now, and just like you, are unsure how to get that support. Online therapy has been the answer for many in similar positions as you and researchers are telling us that it is just as effective as in-person therapy but without the risks.
Online Therapy in California is Your Solution
Online Therapy during COVID-19
We all know that the world has changed since COVID hit. But that awareness doesn’t make the adjustment to our “new normal” any easier. Many people like you are wanting to move on and work on the things we know really matter -like our relationships, growing our connections with those that we love, finding our purpose, and even working through the many feelings that COVID brought up!
But we are still in a place of uncertainty, on and off mask mandates, COVID surges, nervousness about vaccines and vaccine effectiveness… etc etc etc. We all know these things far too well.
You have already given up so much because of COVID - prioritizing your mental health and working towards a life that aligns more with your values, doesn’t have to be one of them thanks to online therapy in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Online therapy is convenient!
Online therapy has become the norm in the therapy world. Yes, you can still find a therapist in person, but most (like us) are online therapists at this time. There are so many benefits to having virtual counseling sessions! First, by having an online therapist, you open up your options to find the best online therapist in the entire state of California for you! You are no longer limited to whoever is within driving distance.
We’ve found that online counseling helps people be more consistent in attending sessions which usually means they reach their goals (like feeling better) faster.
It is physically easier to attend sessions for so many people with less time away from your day-to-day life and increased comfort of having your session where you already feel safe and secure.
But is online therapy right for you?

Our online therapist is ready to help you take the next step
Online therapy in California took off when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. You may have heard of online therapy referred to as telehealth, teletherapy, virtual therapy, or web therapy.
You are likely already familiar with online therapy, even if you haven’t had a virtual session before. If you’ve ever been on a zoom meeting, a virtual doctor appointment, or even facetime with a loved one - you’re already a pro at online therapy! You can use your phone, tablet, or laptop computer to access our virtual therapy sessions. Much like a virtual doctor’s appointment (also known as telehealth), we use a secure HIPAA video platform, that way we know what we talk about in session is secure. We always take your privacy seriously.
What You Should Know About Online Therapy in California
One caveat! Whether you’re looking to have sessions from the comfort of your home, or you’re a frequent traveler - sessions can only be held when you’re physically in the state of California. If you’re in Redding, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, or anywhere in between, we can see you for virtual therapy sessions! But if you’re vacationing in Reno, North Lake Tahoe, or Las Vegas, we will need to skip our session until you’re back in California. That’s because our state licensing board says that for all LCSW’s, LMFT’s, LPCC’s, etc., the client must be physically within state lines when sessions are held.
Essentially, when we are licensed in the state of California, we can only offer services when our clients are physically in California at the time of services. Do you travel across state lines frequently? I can help you find an online therapist licensed in multiple states that can provide therapy for you while you’re on the go!
Why I Love Online Therapy in California!
I love holding sessions online because it is easier for everyone involved. Like you, I have a busy schedule, a family, and a young kiddo to take care of at home. When we meet for online therapy in California, we both cut down on transit time, reduce the spread of germs, we are both comfortable in our own spaces and when we are done with our sessions, it’s easy to transition to the next task or take a few extra moments without distraction to process the session.
Even Therapists Have Therapists!
Personally, I see my own therapist online. Just as we talked about above, there is a lot of research supporting virtual therapy, not only is it effective, but it increases the chance that we actually make it to our own sessions. I know there are several times when I would have had to reschedule if I needed to actually be in my therapist’s office physically.
I’m a real person and a real online therapist in the San Francisco Bay Area - I know there will be times when I have to cancel and times when you have to cancel. I know life gets in the way but online therapy makes it easier to “say yes” by prioritizing ourselves and showing up to our sessions together, which is usually when we really need them the most.
