Caregiving During The Holidays
Holidays are that time of year when stress runs high simply because of all of the extra tasks. Things like work, kids, pets, what’s for dinner, grocery shopping, car appointments, banking, taking care of everyone else and trying to stay on top of your own stuff is a lot!
Add in decorating, preparing for family and friends to come over, the extra holiday events, crowded grocery stores, finances running tighter, less sun exposure, trying to find the perfect gift for everyone on your list and let’s not forget, all.of.the.sweets - Before you know it, you’re in full holiday stress mode.
But you’re starting this holiday season with a higher stress level than others.
You’re a caregiver.
When everyone else’s baseline stress is at 50%, yours is 75% - or more!
You also manage doctors appointments, pill boxes, asking if pills were taken, additional housekeeping responsibilities, transportation, maybe special diets, energy levels, physical abilities, possibly also responsible for bathing, grooming, dressing and feeding. Let alone, worrying about the overall wellbeing of the person you’re taking care of.
Maybe the person you are caring for isn’t as mentally and or physically aware or able as they used to be, maybe they’ve become less appreciative of your dedication or even mean towards you. That makes caregiving so much harder, feel so much more isolating and increase your already high stress levels.
This group is for you, to navigate the holiday season with support and spark joy in your heart once again.
Safe to assume you…

A Note From Your Host:
Personal Experience
I truly believe caregiving is some of the most challenging, least glamorous and under-appreciated things that we do for our loved ones.
After working in a dialysis clinic for nearly 5 years, I worked with all types of caregivers and feel like I saw almost all situations. From non-existent family members, all the way to the most dedicated spouses, children, and grandchildren ensuring everything went off without a hitch for their loved ones.
I have seen the time off work you take, the juggling act of “to do’s” and doctor’s appointments, the notebooks and folders filled with information, recommendations, and everything you’re trying to juggle.
The thought of adding in the holiday season to your “to do” list may seem like the last thing you want to add right now, but it certainly doesn’t have to be a miserable experience.
Join our group and let my experience and the experiences of others help you through a very challenging time.
